I offer a compassionate space to address challenges such as low self-esteem, complicated grief, relationship loss, and high-pressure work environments. Whether you are experiencing social isolation or navigating traumatic life changes, I am here to support you in moving toward restoration and emotional well-being.

About Dr. Kunga

I earned my Doctor of Psychology and Master of Social Work (Clinical) from the University of St. Thomas. I combine a clinical and systems-level perspective to meet clients where they are while considering the social, cultural, and systemic factors that shape our experiences. My approach honors each client's reality and creates interventions that respect and work within that reality. I am licensed to practice in Minnesota (LICSW #20588). I am in the process of being dually licensed in other states—more to come.

Nearly twenty years ago, my journey began as an undergraduate intern in the correctional system. I witnessed how trauma and intergenerational patterns shape lives. Through studying Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Relational Cultural Therapy, and trauma-informed care, I learned that healing can transform future generations. Today, I support clients in reconnecting with their internal strengths and resilience through a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach grounded in compassion and unconditional positive regard.

Growing up in an immigrant family, I understand what it feels like to be the first to navigate many of life’s milestones. I’ve always valued community and the power of listening to others’ stories. I was drawn to a career in therapy because of a deep sense of calling. At the time, I didn’t know anyone else in my community who was a therapist. This drive to be the first motivated me to follow a path that led to a rewarding career, one that allows me to support individuals in their healing journeys.

I’m passionate about working with adolescents, first-generation individuals, and young professionals, as well as those considering starting or returning to therapy. My lived experiences, combined with my clinical training, allow me to provide culturally responsive care to individuals from diverse backgrounds.

My Approach & Fees

Past clients have described me as gentle, calm, caring, wise, funny, and thoughtful. I provide a therapeutic environment where clients can safely explore their experiences while identifying practical strategies to overcome challenges.
My approach emphasizes insight, reflection, and actionable steps to build resilience improving coping skills, and foster meaningful change. I am honored to guide clients through their therapeutic journey with professionalism and care.
Having worked in private practice, a Level 1 trauma hospital, and various community mental health settings, I support individuals from all walks of life, across differences in age, race, gender, and education. I've also partnered with professionals to help them manage stress, build resilience, and create healthier, more equitable workplaces.

I'm trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Mindfulness and I thoughtfully integrate these approaches together to meet each person where they are and support their unique journey.
